Tyler is a 17 year old violinist from Raleigh NC that has been playing the violin for 9+ years. Tyler is a Leukemia Survivor (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), he was diagnosed when he was 4 1/2 years old and his little brother Adam was only 3 months old. Tyler almost died. Tyler endured hospital stays, spinal taps, needle sticks to withdraw blood, surgeries and 3 long years of chemotherapy and now by the grace of God is 8+ years in remission. Tyler was bullied in school when his hair came out due to the medications that he had to take to survive. It was a very difficult time for Tyler, but he kept his head high and remained positive. Tyler could not play sports like like basketball, football or soccer as the other kids his age due to there was "Chemo Port" surgically implanted into his chest for a quicker method to reach his veins to receive his chemotherapy.
Tyler's elementary school offered violin lessons. Tyler wanted to join the class, just to have something to do, to keep his mind off what he was going through. Tyler advanced out of the basic violin class at his school and was in need of an advanced teacher/professional violinist to continue his advancement. Tyler began to teach himself more advanced techniques by watching YouTube videos. Tyler began to learn Gospel and Pop songs. Tyler competed in his school's talent show, won the 1st Place trophy and the People's Choice trophy. Tyler and his little brother Adam have been raised by their single mother Kisua ever since Tyler was diagnosed with Leukemia. Tyler's Mom did not have extra money for a violin teacher, so Tyler decided to street perform to save money and help out his family. During this process, Tyler was watching the t.v. show "America's Got Talent" 2018 and saw the violinist Brian King Joseph that inspired him. Tyler saved up the money for his Mom and little brother Adam to travel to Charlotte NC to audition for the show. Tyler auditioned, got the OK from the producers to travel to Hollywood to audition in front of the celebrity judges. Tyler received the "Golden Buzzer" from Simon Cowell that advanced him to the Live Rounds. Tyler finished as a Top 10 Finalist. Tyler then appeared and performed on the Ellen Show. Tyler performed 6 shows in Las Vegas with the winner of AGT 2019, Kodi Lee for "AGT Live On Stage". Tyler then traveled back to California to compete on America's Got Talent: The Champions Season 2 where he placed 3rd in the world while competing with other competitors that came from all across the world and some had even won "Got Talent" shows in the past.
